Kitchens are often described as the heart of the home, and as a place we often spend most of our time in, it is important to to focus not only on practicality but also on creating a place of inspiration and creativity. This design focussed on maximising the work space and natural light in the galley kitchen in order to create an inspiring and efficient space for Josh and Martin.
By reassessing the floor plan we were able to relocate the oven which opened up space to move the sink. This allowed for the removal of the cabinetry below the window and for a larger window to be installed.
This in combination with white surfaces and cabinetry created a more open and accessible space and maximised the natural light. The removal of one line of wall cabinetry further increased the use of natural light and, along with the addition of new timber floorboards, created a clean, contemporary kitchen that better complimented the clients' needs and lifestyles.
